I was listening to ESPN radio the other day, and they said that KSU brought their recruits in on private jets so they wouldn't have to have recruits pass KU on the drive in from KC. On the radio, they also said that this was to fight the perception that Manhattan is in the middle of nowhere. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?
If I were a Kansas resident, I would be pretty upset about this use of state funds. If they raise the money for this privately, you could still argue that a public institution shouldn't be spending any money in this way.
