Harry Reid and his colleagues blew up most of the filibuster when in the Senate majority. As a former legislative aide, I said at the time they would regret doing that. That time has now come as Trump appointees detested by Senate Democrats, including judicial nominees other than SCOTUS, come before the Senate for confirmation. Now in the minority, Senate Democrats can only watch as these appointments are confirmed. They axed minority protections in the Senate and now reap what they have sown.
