I spent a good portion of the game last night watching just the d line. Corey King gets moved all over the field almost instantly when the play begins. I saw a lot of plays he got an arm/hand on the ball carrier but did very little to impact the RB/QB. Folks, this is a kid coming from Miami and he wasn't some under the radar guy no one knew was transferring. He came to KU and immediately steps into the lineup but gets beat quite a bit. What does that tell you about the talent on the roster? It says to me that KU took a kid almost no one else wanted and now he starts b/c he's better than what KU already had.
Larry Hughes comes into KU during the summer and is now starting in place of a kid that started all last year and initially was a starter last year. Yes, Hughes seems like a legit steal. However, true freshmen offensive linemen getting in front of a senior is a severe indictment of what the older talent is.
Hard to truly assess schemes when you have little talent, QB can't throw the ball downfield, RBs are getting hit before even getting to the line of scrimmage, DL is getting pummeled, and secondary does pirouettes rather than watch the ball.
