While the number of coal fired power plants have greatly decreased, the amount of emissions produced in this country hasn't. The reason-the increase in factory productions have nullified the decrease from power plants. I realize that any emissions are bad, but I still found it interesting that the growth of the economy has had such an impact. I am not saying anything political, but merely pointing out that more often than not there are two sides to everything.
