...would you install solar panels? The thread on the environment got me to thinking about this. I know I'd install solar panels to supplement the homes need for electricity. I read where the average new home build, if it were to have sufficient supplemental solar power, would cost an additional $20k above the overall cost of the new home. To me that's a small price to pay to make a home more green. The house I look at with envy is one that sits on top of the hill in Lawrence above Memorial Stadium across from the KU education buildings. It's a very nice older home that has newer solar panels installed on the east facing roof. I don't think it takes away from the looks of the house myself.
