I'll start with a disclaimer, I don't think there is anything to learn from the Baylor and Oklahoma games, so I'm not even going to mention them. They outclass us in every way right now.
But against Texas Tech, TCU and Oklahoma State we really started to look like a real team, we aren't there yet, we have some glaring holes, but I see light at the end of the tunnel. We have some real talent on D, we are a QB and some linemen away from being there on offense.
The roster isn't close to being flipped yet but it should be clear to everybody that Beaty has raised the talent level of the roster. We would have killed to have guys like Mike Lee, Quiv Gonzales, Steven Sims and Dorance Armstrong on those Mangino teams.
I am seeing fewer mistakes, slow improvement no doubt, the mistakes are still there but I don't think we are close to the number that we were making last year. We do look more disciplined, bigger, stronger, and faster.
I know that looking better doesn't mean squat toward the bottom line, but the wins will come with time. I am excited for small improvements right now.
