Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are two that have mentioned they should pay more in taxes. On one hand there are those on the left that think they should, and on the other hand there are those who say if they feel that way let them just write bigger checks to the IRS. With the number of billionaires growing where should the lines be drawn on how much makes a person super rich. When looking closely at the super rich, I find that while some would say they don't pay enough the rich do in fact give generously to many charities, fine arts, city improvements etc. Would it be better sending the money to Washington to make the spending choices? IMO we have to be careful that taxes don't impair the numbers of those striving to design, develop, and grow businesses and progress. Not being a wealthy person, I don't how a billionaire like Gates et al whose wealth is in stock is taxed. I'm certainly not jealous of them, but I do know how much a person retiring today at age 67 should have in assets to make it through the rest of their lives.
