Man I really thought they had a good game yesterday.
Quiv got his touches as expected, looked like what we thought he would. He should get a lot of credit for that TD catch - wasn't a great throw from Willis, but he did a great job of adjusting and fighting for the ball.
That long run by Steven Sims - man, he really looks a lot faster than last year. All the talk this offseason about looking bigger/faster, I wondered how much of the faster thing was just talk - well to me anyways Sims looks a lot faster. He has always been a solid route runner, so with this speed, Sims will really be a threat for us.
Tyler Patrick is just one solid receiver. He stepped up last year and is still improving. I am not sure KU has had a receiver as solid as him come in with that second string since the Henry/Meier/young Briscoe days. Very good game for him last night.
Speaking of guys stepping up, I know it was Rhode Island, but thought Hartzog looked a lot improved last night as well. Solid speed, solid size (almost 200 lbs) - another valuable WR that may not get as much love as he will deserve this offseason.
Finally, some pretty exciting stuff at the end from Chase Harell. I know it was basically mop up time action, but he made two really solid adjustments to throws near the end of the game - I think he is a guy that will be forcing the coaching staff to get him more reps in the game of he continues to make plays when he gets in like he did last night.
