Hey guys...wanted to pass along that one of our fellow Slanters is getting recognized this Saturday at the game for his outstanding dedication and service to our country and our beloved university.
@HawkRanger will be brought onto the field after the first quarter for a Veteran's Day salute and his outstanding dedication to both his country and KU.
A decorated Army Ranger captain who served in Vietnam and has been the most loyal KU football supporter I have ever known. He's been a longtime Williams Fund member and season ticket holder since 1968. Living in western Kansas, he has made the the 600 mile roundtrip drive for almost every home game since that time.
He also headed up the local Dodge City alumni chapter during the Fambrough and Bud Moore years. I recall being told Nolan Cromwell came out to stay with us for a weekend event and was a very great guy. I've been a Ransom Rambler guy ever since.
Here's to Hawkranger for being a great American and one hell of a KU man. Proud to call the guy my pops.
