KU has to have a football program before we can expect any improvement. You can't have a program with three coaches in five years.

Coach Beaty is here to build a program, and once he establishes a program, we will have a competitive football team. It will take several years to establish a program. There are plenty of good football players out there to build a program with. Recruiting is not the issue. More than enough good players that Beaty can get and develop. The issue is not recruiting, the issue is time and having a program and identity. Look at Memphis and Temple for example. Those teams could win games in the Big 12. They don't have four star players, but they have a program and an identity. It will take several years for KU to have an identity and establish a program.

This is going to take time but I am absolutely convinced we have the right guy. The minute Weis goes off the payroll we need to start bringing Beaty and staffs salaries up because Beaty is going to be one hot commodity after turning our program around, which is exactly what he is going to do.

It can easily be done, you just have to have a program. In three to four years we will finally have a program. It can only happen one brick at a time. There are no quick fixes, but it absolutely can and will be done if we stick it out with Beaty and build a program. Thank God we hooked up with Beaty and we need people like Bowen that want so badly for KU to be good again.

Keep the faith, saw the wood, hope for upsets, relish the improvement when we see it. But make no mistake, until we have a program nothing will really change. It is going to take Beaty several years to establish a program. You cannot have a program when you change coaches every two years, it will never happen that way.
