Heard a great quote from my high school coach once who is a Kansas HS HOF guy (or at least will be): athletes fall in 3 categories:
1) talented but don't work hard
2 work hard but aren't talented
3) talented and work hard
Guys in category 3 no matter what are the rarest breed. #Earnit is great but at some point the kids that show up on Saturday get the PT.
It's tough when the guy that should be QB breaks his hand being an idiot and his backup isn't good but busts his butt and does the right thing; it's hard to set a culture but at the end of the day kids realizing sometimes they aren't good enough is equally as important and learning to work hard.
