Passed away suddenly in Qatar, Shawnee Mission East Alum. Sports Illustrated basketball and soccer writer for many years, primary love appeared to be soccer as he focused on that in recent times. I loved his basketball coverage in the 00s and early 10s, his pre-season write-ups were must reads for awhile. I always thought him to be hip and funny (he'd write off the cuff stuff about guys like Gene Keady that you wouldn't expect). In particular, I remember a feature on the 01-02 team as it was finding its groove that memorable season. Only 49 years old, RIP.
