Dems actually had enough in them to grow a pair and block it, I didn't think they would. Too many DINOs on the fence but enough came through.
We will see if McConnell actually nukes the filibuster. Either way, Trump loses here: Either Republicans realize this is a two way street that can and will bite them down the road later and back off, or they do it, but not without getting whatever they want out of Trump as he desperately needs some sort of victory after all of his failures.
It will be a very Pyrrhic victory if they nuke the filibuster and put Gorsuch on. The whole point of having 60 is to prevent someone way too partisan to be nominated. Like it or not, but with each generation our society is getting more and more liberal and imagine say, 2020 Bernie or someone like him gets elected and only needs a simple majority, they'll be wishing for a SCOTUS full of Garland's over whom would be nominated at that point.
