I'm a realignment junky, so as we wait until June to see what the Big 12 does, I thought I'd put some thoughts together of how I see things unfolding in the future.

-Big 12 effs up and Oklahoma and Kansas accept invitations to the B1G
-Big 12 disbands
-B1G seizes opportunity and grabs UNC and Virginia
-SEC then snags Virginia Tech and NC State
-having lost 4 teams, the ACC adds UCONN,Cincy,Memphis, and Houston
-to keep Notre Dame happy, the ACC then adds Navy and Army
-Texas and Texas Tech accept invitations to the Pac-12
-remnants of Big 12,AAC ,and MWC form new conference
-B1G ends up with 18 teams, ACC at 16, SEC at 18,and Pac-14
-The four power conferences all adopt the 1 OOC P-4 opponent
-The P-4 push through rule change allowing pods and semi-finals for conference championship
-at 18 teams, the SEC and B1G have 2 four team pods and 2 five team pods. Breakdown of how it would look and operate is below...

B1G West

1. Kansas
2. Oklahoma
3. Nebraska
4. Iowa
5. Wisconsin

B1G Central

1.Indiana
2.Purdue
3.Illinois
4.Northwestern

B1G East

1. UNC
2. UVA
3. Rutgers
4. Maryland
5. Penn State

B1G Great Lakes

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan
3. Michigan State
4. Minnesota

teams play their pod 2 from each pod . When facing a 5 team pod the schedule is cycled through the pod annually. For example

Kansas would play OU,Iowa,NU,and Wisconsin from their pod plus Rutgers,Maryland, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, and Minnesota for a total of 10 conference games. That leaves B1G and SEC teams with non con, 1 of which must be against a P-4 leaving just 1 non con to use on any team.

-ACC would use basic 4 team pod system. Play 2 from each pod plus 3 in your pod. Notre Dame plays 10 games against ACC opponents without being a football member.
- Pac-14 uses 2 divisions but rotates through cross division teams annually instead of 2 year cycles. Play 6 in division and 4 in other for total of 10. 1 P-4 and 1 OOC

-with everyone essentially having 10 conference games BYU strikes a deal with the P-4 to operate as an independent and fill OOC slots for P-4 teams.

-The Power 68 push the CFP to expand to 8 teams, with each P-4 champion receiving automatic berth

-in a final blow, the Power 68 adds rule that 2nd OOC must be from the Power 68

-The Power 68 secede from the NCAA and forms new non profit governing entity with much more streamlined rules and defined, consistent punishments for violations.

-Big East, AAC/MWC/Big 12 conference and others join Power 68 for basketball only and new basketball tournament is created.
