The WSJ has a report talking about the huge jump in family farm bankruptcies and ties the bankruptcies to Trump's trade wars. https://www.wsj.com/articles/this-o...arm-belt-bankruptcies-are-soaring-11549468759
In other news, the gap created by US lack of exports to China in ag products is being filled by Russia. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...Dj-jvmIIBMDBV_jRSi-7Jk-HJw9SOMFhLU_2FgKPHODdQ
This was mentioned when the trade war started, but is seeming to come to pass. The US farm industries spent big to open up markets in China and the loss of those markets from Trump's war will potentially have generational impacts. Nice how it's also benefitting Russia. I heard some experts on Russia talk and they said the biggest misconception about Russia is that Putin is a Bond-level super villain. They said he was very devious, but the efficiency and craftiness attributed to him aren't on par with reality. That said, he has set himself and Russia up with the perfect situation. A US President unwilling to strongly stand up to him, creates a trade war with countries that ultimately benefits Russia, threatens to pull out of Syria, undermines NATO, and a UK and Europe that is crumbling because of nationalist policies undermining the EU. Russia isn't the adversary they once were, but it seems they've evolved with the times. We are still catching up.
