I normally just vote straight ticket. However, a buddy of mine has convinced me to change my strategy. I'm a conservative so here is my voting strategy:
GOP vs DEM = GOP
GOP vs DNC vs IND = GOP
GOP vs IND = IND
GOP vs no candidate = no vote
Reasoning: competition is healthy. If a candidate is running unopposed then they don't have to spend any money and are less accountable to their constituency. No need to artificially pump up their vote totals and make them appear invincible during the next election. Same reason for voting for the IND. They're underdogs and if we don't support them then they'll always get mowed over by those voters who are voting straight ticket.
What's your strategy and why?
