So since the two biggest things that are drive killers, and easily seen in film are runs plays and pass protection failures. (I can't tell if someone is or isn't open downfield on a TV screen). So I've broken down every run play and every pressure on the QB in the first quarter:

Drive 1 Play 1: Inside Zone for a gain of 1 yard

The play looks like it could be successful (at least 3 yards). Here is what should happen with the circled man being the guy that the QB reads:

The read guy stays back enough to where Cozart correctly gives the ball:

However, both the RG and LT get beat across their face so the RB has to cut back right into the read guy (physical mistake Banks, Ribordy):

Drive 1 Play 3: Incomplete Pass – Pressure and Holding

The boxes below are the 5 the OL is responsible for, with the circles being who the RB is responsible for (if they bring both, the QB must throw hot):

I redrew the boxes into the play where you can see 2 of the OL’s guys are dropping and both the RB’s guys are coming:

It looks like our OL is actually going to do a very good adjustment and bump everyone down to pick up the extra RB guy (notice how the guy coming from the 31 above has now become a OL guy instead of an RB guy):

The RB has a mental mistake, and picks up the deeper blitzing LB (the one I’ve now changed to an OL guy), leaving the closer LB free to pressure Montell. (Ribordy and Hubert are both blocking number 10 from TT who was the guy blitzing from deep. Mental mistake by Hubert as he has to pick up the first of his two guys and we’d actually have a decent pocket, instead we have a pressure which Montell escapes, but Banks at the bottom gets called for a hold (not his fault):

Drive 2 Play 2: Inside zone for gain of 2

Here’s how it should be blocked with the circled guy being a read guy:

It starts off ok, the read guy is coming super hard so I’d expect to see either Cozart pull and run or pull and throw:

However, for some reason, Ben Johnson blocks the read guy which I’m assuming causes Cozart to hand the ball. This leaves the linebacker completely unblocked who makes the play for a two yard gain. Now I can’t be 100% sure that this isn’t what Ben’s supposed to do, but given that in the screen shot above he’s looking at the LB, and that Cozart doesn’t appear to be looking at the LB, but rather the guy Ben’s blocking. So I’m giving Ben a mental mistake, but I will give the caveat it’s possible that Cozart is supposed to be reading the LB and if he’s in the box then throw the bubble at the bottom.

Drive 2 Play 6: Incomplete pass (throw away) - Pressure

Basic pass protection against a four man rush, and Gibson (Center) leans and gets beat by a swim move:

Drive 2 Play 7: Outsize Zone Read for gain of -2 yards

We’ve actually got great numbers and angles on this play. We need to hit this one for a long gain. The circled guy is the read guy. If he rushes hard up field, then Cozart keeps the ball and rushes right under him. If he stays down, then we hand the ball off and the RB outruns him to the corner.

As you can see, the read guy stays on the line of scrimmage, so Cozart hands the ball off, but somehow Banks gets beat across his face so bad that his backside DE makes the play (any type of contact and that guys can’t make the play, but Banks completely whiffed).

I will say though I wish Kinner would’ve kept going outside because I think he’s fast enough to outrun all of the guys instead of cutting it up right there. Regardless Banks gets the physical mistake:

Drive 2 Play 8: Incomplete Pass – Pressure

It’s a play action pass, so essentially the OL is taught to run to the right and just ball all the crap up. Whatever you do, don’t stop, and don’t let anyone through the gap to your right:
Drive%202%20Play%208%20Part%201_zps6rgtgcxx.jpg

Everything seems to be working ok so far, no one through gaps Cozart getting ready to setup:

However, for some inexplicable reason Banks turns back to go for number 5 meanwhile a guys is running through his gap. Mental Mistake Banks:
