So yesterday Houston picked up a commitment from Jaylon Mascorro. That means the only uncommitted 2017 QB left that KU has offered is Avery Davis, whom Notre Dame has recently made their top priority at QB. While anything is possible, I wouldn't be surprised if KU made a new offer (or offers) given how fast and early QB commitments can be now-a-days.
Any QBs from the 2017 class anyone has noticed? Some guys I think could possibly be in line for an offer...
Jason Shelley - might be my favorite QB from 2017 and here we go with our typical QB comparison...but I do see some Todd Reesing in this kid's game. Not the biggest, but a ton of production...completed 63% of his passes throwing for over 3700 yards with 39 passing TDs (only 8 INTs) with over 1600 yards rushing and 21 rushing TDs last year. I don't think he is crazy fast, but he get's the job done on the ground obviously. But I am amazed by him as a passer. Great pocket presence and escapability. The thing that most impresses me is the touch this kid has on his passes as it is unreal...his clips...
Jaylen Gipson - only offer right now is Tech, but if Avery Davis does go to Notre Dame I could see him being Tech's top priority. When I watch his clips, I see a steady guy - he can run the type of offense we want to run. Capable of running, but pretty methodical in the passing game as well...his clips...
Ty Brock - here is the risk/reward guy. Ranked a four star recruit, but missed this past season with a broken leg. As a sophomore when he was healthy, the kid had everything you looked for in this offense with a strong arm, good build, and could run. Now will he be able to come back from that injury? By the time we find out it may be too late as I could see guys jumping in on him once he plays. HS teammate of Jeremiah Booker and that staff has a lot of ties to College Station, so we maybe could have an inside scoop on this kid
