Take the ten teams. Divide into two divisions. Play eight conference games. Four every year against the teams in your division and rotate one in the other division, playing four out of five each year.
Have a playoff game between the two divisions, and you get to play four non-games.
The two divisions would be tough to do I guess, because OU and UT would need to be in opposite divisions but they would need to play the red river rivalry each year.
You do the above until the College Football Playoff expands beyond four. Also maybe the Longhorn network turns into the LHN/B12 network.
