So Big 12 was getting close to $40M per team and TV was probably around $30M of that. Rest was CFB playoffs and NCAA tournament credits.
Per CBS report new Big 12 will get $20M to $25M per school from TV deal. And it looks like Big 12 will keep P5 status so that is $5M per school without even getting team in playoffs. And with NCAA credits total payout per school gets you around $30M per year. That keeps you close to ACC (their deal isn’t up until 2036). PAC 12 should get a little more gap with new TV deal but not crazy different (especially since Big 12 teams sponsor fewer teams). Now Big 12 and SEC will collect twice per school what other Power 5 schools will get.
It’s not great but not as bad as everyone first thought.
