Coach Littrell is my cousin and I talked to him last week at a family gathering. He was a long term coach at Olathe South and retired a few years ago to coach with Coach Weir at North Richland in Texas. Now back in KS. He could not have been higher in his praise of Coach Beaty and Coach Perry from his Texas days. He told me a story about Coach Beaty showing up at an academic award ceremony this year. No one expected him to be there. He shook hands with each recipient and offered sincere praise. Coach Lit is convinced Coach Beaty and his crew are the ones to turn KU football around. He offered a glimpse of Coach Weis. At a high school coaches clinic, Coach W never rose from his chair to address the assembled coaches. His lack of interest was obviously poorly received by the coaches.
