I’ll cut to the chase – with zero pressure to contribute or guilt associated if you don’t – I’m trying to get a collection going for my buddy John and his wife to help pay their medical bills. He was one of our wedding ushers and when I reached out to him today on a whim, he sent me their CaringBridge (happy to share that link privately if you want to read it) and an update below. It’s rip-your-heart-out kind of stuff with their situation… They already lost one child (Jemma) in tragic fashion shortly after her birth a couple years ago, and now it sounds like it will happen again from a completely unrelated issue if their baby is even born. *Goes without saying but will say it anyway: this is not a scam – if you Venmo me (@J-Stepp; our dog is my profile pic), I swear on all my deceased relatives it will go straight to this family. They need all the help, thoughts, prayers, etc. right now, and as a parent, I felt physically ill when I got this update. Thanks for your consideration – even if you contribute a $1, it will still help them out.

I unfortunately have more impossible news on my end. Thought life couldn’t get worse than it was. We’re expecting a son with a terminal condition anytime in the next month or so. Totally random and unrelated to Jemma’s condition.
