What can we do to make the elections and process better?
For someone to chose just one thing which is most important is difficult. I believe the crux of the problem emanates with the voters. The voters need to be more knowledgeable on both sides. In order to attain this, the process needs to be more segmented. Here is why I suggestion.
there's a certain period of time in which each candidate has to lay out their platform, who will be in their cabinet. There can be alterations made as needed, but it gives the public a chance to see what exactly each candidate is about, how they will go about attaining their goals and who the will use in their cabinet to do so.
It would be nice if the media had the discipline to educate the public on policy instead of treating it like a stupid horse race, but that is impossible to do as long as their beholden to ratings.
