We are basically going to have to be better at everything, sans possibly the run game, in order to have a chance against Rutgers. But one specific area that will have a big impact is passing completion percentage IMO.

Rutgers enters this game top ten in the nation in terms of collective passing completion percentage where they have completed collectively 73.3% of their passes so far this year. On defense...well...we haven't been good, currently ranked 115th in the nation in passing completion percentage allowing opponents to complete 68.3% of their passes. This will have to change - the defense will have to get creative to force the passing game to have a harder time completing passes.

Now on the flip side, well it isn't the greatest either. Right now, KU ranks 92nd in the nation in terms of passing completion percentage completing 55.1% of the passes collectively. But here we do see a silver lining. One part is that Rutgers hasn't been very good stopping other teams from completing passes ranked 110th in the nation in defensive completion percentage allowing opponents to complete 65.8% of their passes. The other part is if some passes weren't dropped in the first game and some more accurate throws were made in the second game, I think collectively the passing completion percentage would be over 70%. The receivers are getting open, and I think that continues this week, so there will be an opportunity to complete some passes IMO.
