Several posts this weekend about apathy and frustration. Keegan's artical in LJW is claiming this is rock bottom of the program. All of that is true but the next question is what do you do about it??? Hire a young energetic, super recruiter with TX HS head coaching experience...check. Have him take a lower salary so we can attract quality assistants that are also young, energetic strong recruiters....check. Prior to the season, blitz KS HSs and repair and build those relationships for future recruiting...check. Put in an Air Raid system that has proven success in this league and begin building the foundation for later success...check. Establish a culture of #earnit where the best performers get the playing time regardless of age, experience, etc including playing freshmen to get them experience that will pay dividends in the future...check. There are more, but the point is that the solution is in place and in-progress. Keegan's article was identifying the low point...for me the low point was the UT game under Weis. Poor performance, bad leadership, and no hope for anything different in the future. This is not the low point. We have a plan. We are establishing a foundation for success. The next questions is...How are you going to help? Come to the games, stay until the end, cheer for effort and improvement, donate to the program. All those things will help build the program. Be part of the solution!
