It was eerily similar to KU and what Beaty is trying to do. Beaty reminds me a lot of Coach Mac, but without as much of the preaching part. Mac had a lot of young coaches on his staff as well that helped turned that program around. It was really interesting on how he talked about he just needed to get them on campus and he could sell them on CU and he would also try to sell their mother's / parent's on him being a father away from home for their children. Anyway, it was a really good 30 for 30. I remember that time well as CU was on top of my wish list of where I wanted to go to play football. Loved that staff, a lot of good young coaches back then.
