Trump administration purchased 96 million doses of useless hydroxychloroquine (of which around 60+ million remain unused) and only 100 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Add to that they turned down an opportunity to purchase more Pfizer vaccine this summer. Now, US may have to wait for Pfizer to honor its commitments to other countries before US can buy more of its vaccine.
I guess if we have a malaria outbreak in the US we'll be covered.
