What are some arguments you think could be made for guys not named Willis or Cozart to be the QB this season?

Mainly focusing here on Stanley and Starks (not trying to knock the other guys), they both were guys Beaty felt he had to take late. Both have speed (Stanley had electronic 4.6 speed and we know Starks is fast). I think ideally, these are the type of QBs that Beaty wants. So with Willis and Cozart, I think he might be trying to fit the offense around their skills whereas for guys like Stanley and Starks, he could start running more of what he wants.

I think Year 4 is the big year for Beaty. I think you have to start circling that year as the year he has to have KU bowl eligible. Now if he can get it done sooner, which is possible (these recent additions help), then even better. But if we look at this from the long term view, by Year 4 I am guessing Beaty wants his offense to be ran his way and be good enough to get him to bowl eligibility. Cozart won't be around here for Year 4. Willis may not be able to do what Beaty wants the QB to do. So I think you could argue it may be smart to sacrifice this year and get one of these guys like Stanley or Starks time now to get their feet wet, make improvements during Year 3, and have the offense rolling by Year 4.
