I talked with 4-star Lawrence High DE Amani Bledsoe yesterday, and asked him about his unofficial visit to KU for the Memphis game on Saturday. Rated as the top prospect in Kansas, the Lions standout likes the changes he's seen under David Beaty.
"The coaching was more aggressive than last year's, it seemed," Bledsoe said of what stood out most about his visit. "There's more energy. I liked it, to be honest. It created more enthusiasm."
He talked briefly with members of the Jayhawks coaching staff as he watched pregame warmups from the KU sideline.
"They said they were glad I came. Coach Thibs said something about how I could help the team."
The LHS defender also spoke with the first-year head coach prior to kickoff.
"He was just wondering what I was up to," Bledsoe said. "Asking about my game and stuff."
The 4-star prospect is scheduled to make his first two official visits to Oregon and UCLA later this month. After cutting his list to six programs, KU is still very much in the race to land Bledsoe.
