AJ Storr, the 6-foot-6, 200-pound shooting guard from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., has scheduled an official visit to Kansas. According to Storr, who backed out of his commitment to Illinois last month, is scheduled to officially visit Kansas June 28-30. Currently, Storr is being recruited by the likes of Kansas, Arizona State, Austin Peay, Chicago State, Creighton, DePaul, Howard, IUPUI, Illinois, Iona, Iowa, LSU, Mississippi, Murray State, New Orleans, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, UIC, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Washington State, and others.
I know that Storr has a lot of interest in Kansas and wanted to get on campus as soon as he could following his decision to re-open his recruitment. Kansas extended a scholarship offer to Storr at the end of last month and he immediately became interested in Kansas.
Rob Cassidy, Basketball Recruiting Director, recently had this to say about AJ Storr.
AJ Storr absolutely went off in Vegas Elite’s tightly contested game against Team Trae Young, finishing the contest with a team-high 22 points on an unofficial 9-for-11 shooting performance. Storr showed the ability to guard multiple positions in addition to the ability to get to the hoop and finish at the rack. All in all, the three-star guard was one of the weekend’s most pleasant surprises, as he wowed with athleticism and efficiency.
Cassidy, when asked which player just missed the 150 that he thinks will make a serious play to make the cut next time?
I’ll go with AJ Storr. Rankings were already finalized before I sat down to watch Storr last weekend, and the crafty IMG Academy guard used that performance to go for 22 points and four rebounds against a talented Team Trae Young squad. A prep school prospect, Storr comes with incredible length and showed some chops as a defender in his big scoring performance. Had our rankings not already been locked, there would have been a serious discussion of inserting his name.
