We are clearly better than we have been for a while. We have better talent, better athletes and I like the chemistry.
What I think we need are:
1) Offensive Coordinator....let Beaty be head coach and recruiting honcho...I think he has real talent in those areas. I think he can recruit well and I think he can keep the ship on a good, even keel, with the players playing hard for him. But divest himself of the offensive coordinator's job ASAP.
2) Quarterback...As has been pointed out in many posts, trade our QB for the other team's QB--the only change--and we win quite a few of the games we've lost and would be in nearly all. Big issue. We need a QB badly. There are apparently none on the current roster, so keep recruiting them until we get one. I understand the importance of a QB to the system we run and I also understand that every program is in desperate search for a quality QB, but we simply aren't going to compete in this league without one. Absent a "Synder-like" ability to mold a QB from seemingly nothing, we are going to have to recruit a good one---on continue to flounder
I really think if we can do these two things (one easy...one not so much), then this program would be on the right path.
