Every year we hear about the players working harder than ever, they are stronger than ever, etc. Now honestly that's the way it should be, but I know it's something that we basically hear every year and just kind of take it for what it is.
Seeing the players add substantial weight according to the roster and then being able to visually back it up at the Spring Game is a good thing of course. Hearing that the team has gotten faster, while not being able to really tell if that is true, seems the standard response. But something seems different here...
And by different I mean the social media aspect - there are few players (if any?) on the team talking about how hard they are working. That seemed to be very common under Weis. Every year it was common to see players say "Nobody is working harder than us" or something similar. Really haven't seen much of that under Coach Beaty. Now maybe that changes over the summer, but I like this change. It's a mentality thing that matches Beaty saying "Earn It." My grandpa used to tell me there are two types of people - those that work hard and those that tell you they work hard. We have visually seen the changes some guys have made, so we know they are working hard...but it looks like this group is working hard instead of telling us how hard they are working. I like it...
