As the GOP continues to flounder now that they can't just campaign against an imagined villain (Obama) or against a party in power's policies, they are showing a complete and utter lack of an ability to govern. Finally, it appears that some from the right are starting to take notice and voice concern. R-Congressman Womack said, "We just simply don't know how to govern."

A great article in Politico the other day by former Reagan staffer Bruce Bartlett stated that, "Trump is what happens when a political party abandons ideas, demonizes intellectuals, degrades politics and simply pursues power for the sake of power." His point: the GOP is no longer a party for the country, but a party for power. They have lost any sense of what it means to work for the common good or produce valid policies.

If we are going to continue as a two party system, we have to have two viable parties. While they are in power, the GOP right now is a dysfunctional, disjointed, and wildly ineffective party that can't do even the most basic of duties they are tasked with. It won't get better anytime soon, but hopefully we are starting to see some take the call to do what is best for the nation and wipe away this rhetoric and 'campaign style governing' that has ruined the party and is dragging the country down with it.
