I look with amazement at the number of upper millionaires and billionaires. There are a hell of a lot of them. For the most part their wealth comes from stock ownership. So really how much is someone like Bill Gates or Bezos really worth? If they start liquidating their stock the value would crumble. Someone could antiquate Amazon, Microsoft, or Google. Supposedly Perot put all of his billions T bills which made sense at the time, but how much could people get out in a hurry for how long? I question how much is enough and where are we headed. I read today that 41% of millennials cannot afford to buy homes because of school debt. So they are putting off having kids and renting. Since home ownership is a cornerstone of a retirement portfolio what will their future be like? Also, school debt has now become a major cause if divorce. Have I made anyone"s day?
