Let me sneak one more of these threads in before the season starts as I saw one of the funner films of a guy I haven't seen mentioned yet. Any prospects you have been keeping an eye on? These three guys have caught my eye...
Nic Roller - I loved watching this kids film. He has one purpose and that is to run you over. Now he does show some shiftiness and does a good job of catching the ball out of the field, as well as some OK speed for his size, so he isn't just a power guy. But this dude is old school how he runs the ball - a little bit of Mike Alstott in his game. You can't arm tackle this guy. We will have some solid speed at Rb next year with Kinner, Martin, and Schadler, but don't really have any short yardage guys - I think Roller could fit the bill on that...his clips...any thoughts on him @webbie55 ?
Ben Kimpler - a 6' 6" 230 lbs DE out of Illinois that had almost 10 sacks as a junior. Shows a solid ability to get off the ball and apply some pass rush, but was probably most impressed with him against the run. He really held his own in the trenches and maintained his responsibility, showing some discipline on outside runs. Also at his height, he knocked down some passes, which in this league is almost as good as a sack...his clips...
Nic Smith - almost the opposite of Roller, a little bit on the smaller side, but his ability to miss tackles is exceptional, I mean really good. He can cut on a dime and make people miss with ease. Has solid speed, but probably not on the level of Taylor Martin. He also is incredibly good at reading his blocks and going where the defense isn't. His balance is also above average and with that low center of gravity is able to escape some sure looking tackles. He reminds me some of Dante Hall and with over 1400 yards as a sophomore and over 1800 yards as a junior I am surprised he doesn't have more offers...his clips...
