I was reading through the thead about Tyriek Starks and it brought up how KU has been burned by guys being injured during their redshirt senior year and then not being able to play again because they were redshirted their first year for development and not injury.
The NCAA is supposed to be about education, so why don't they reward kids if they want to stay in school for a sixth year? Guys like Michael Cummings, Jeff Spikes, etc. You know there are plenty of others in college football as well who have had this happen.
What would it hurt if they come back and get a year of graduate school if they still wish to still play college football? Most of the time, these guys are good college players, but will never go on to play in the NFL. So, they are getting more prepared for the real world and bettering themselves for the future if they start graduate school or for sure finish up their degree during their time.
With all of the rules in place, why couldn't this one be enacted? It's supposed to be about the student-athlete.
