Hey all,
As most of you already know, Jonas Aidoo, the 7-foot-0, 215-pound center from Liberty Heights High School in Charlotte, N.C., was recently offered a scholarship by Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks. Shortly thereafter, JayhawkSlant.com exchanged a few text messages about his most recent offer.
"Yes, Kansas did offer me a scholarship," Jonas Aidoo told JayhawkSlant.com on Friday morning. "It actually happened on a Zoom call with Coach Rob (Norm Roberts) and Coach Self. I've just been learning about the school and the staff is telling me that there is a want and need for me. I would love to take a visit to Kansas and I am interested in Kansas right now. I really love how Kansas develops its big men into next level athletes."
Currently, Aidoo, the No. 104 ranked player in the 2021 class, is considering scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Houston, Iona, Kansas, Marquette, Mississippi, NC State, Pittsburgh, Providence, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky, and Wichita State. However, it appears that Aidoo, a four-star prospect, is ready to take the next step forward in his recruitment.
Aidoo plans to release his top-10 list of schools on Saturday. I've made a few calls and checked in with a few people, and I expect Kansas to make the cut for the talented big man. Obviously, I don't know that for sure, but because of what I've been told, I believe that to be the case.
