While we are a long ways away from the 2016 class even being announced, 2017 QB recruiting in the Big 12 has picked up big time within the past couple of days. Since Wednesday, three Big 12 teams have picked up commits from QBs - TCU landed Shawn Robinson, OU landed Chris Robison, and Baylor landed Kellen Mond.

In general for KU, I have been looking at the 2017 class being more crucial for KU than the 2016 class. I think we can make an impact here, of which QB will be a very important part of that class. Luckily Texas (and really overall the entire 2017 class) has a ton of quality options at QB. KU has offered Jaylon Mascorro (kid is crazy talented) and Avery Davis (ran a reported 4.51 at an Auburn camp recently), of which if they landed either of these two I would be incredibly happy.

QB recruiting is unique in that you often see them commit earlier than most positions. While I am not expecting KU to get a 2017 QB commit any time in the near future, if this initial run of QB commits by other Big 12 schools is any sign, there could be some serious dominoes fall soon...
