Just so I can keep track of how my mind changes like I did last year, to humor myself with thinking Manti Te'o had a shot at number one overall last year this time of the year and how Tyler Wilson was the second coming of Brett Favre...
Feel free to add your mock draft!
Using the CBS Sports Draft Rankings as my basis here...and assuming the Chiefs pick around the mid 20s...
Round 1: Brett Hundley (QB, UCLA) - so WR is probably their biggest need, but unless Marquis Lee slips (or Sammy Watkins which won't happen), I am not sure it is worth reaching here and I want to see them grab a speed guy. Maybe Brandin Cook.So instead I am going to go with the QB of the future here. First thing is he has to declare. I could also see him shooting up the boards, especially with Mariotta announcing he is coming back. But he has a boatload of potential and who better than Andy Reid to bring that out of him?
Round 3: De'Anthony Thomas (RB, Oregon) - listed as a RB, I like him as a slot at the next level. He has the type of speed Reid needs for his WRs. Reminds me some of Desean Jackson who thrived under Reid's offense.
Round 4: Deion Blue (CB, Alabama) - we are getting exposed a little bit in the secondary, so would be nice to add a quality QB to the roster and that is exactly what I think Blue is
Round 5: Jeremy Gallon (WR, Michigan) - another small receiver with a ton of speed and big play ability...
Round 6a: Billy Turner (OT, North Dakota St) - pending what happens with Brandon Albert, this could be a much bigger priority. But for now, going with an OT here...and going with a small school guy because Dorsey and Reid like those guys...
Round 6b: Greg Blair (OT, Cincinnati) - maybe they are content with Akeem Jordan and have high hopes for Nico Johnson, but Blair is a great LB, IMO, and a steal of a pick this late in the draft...
