Right now the Big 12 has 8 teams that could or could have contended for the championship. We can all pretty much agree that 14-4 or better will win it. Really small chance 5 losses can get a share of the title.

Oklahoma State is 2-3 in conference. They still have @ KSU, Baylor, OU, @ UT, KU, @ Baylor, ISU, and 2 against WVU. Pretty safe to say they're out of it.

Baylor is 2-3. They still play OU, 2 v. OSU, 2 v. WVU, 2 v. UT, KSU, and @ ISU. They're out too.

OU is 3-3. They played @ Baylor next, @ OSU, WVU, 2 v. ISU, @ KSU, UT, and KU at home to close out the season. They'll lose at least 1 more. If not 2.

WVU is 3-2. 2 games against KSU, 2 against Baylor, @ OU, @ ISU, 2 against KU, 2 against OSU, and UT at home. They're going to have a hell of a season if they can only afford to lose 2-3 more.

KSU is 4-1. 2 games against ISU, 2 against KU, 2 against WVU, 2 against UT, @ Baylor, and OU at home. They're not a very good team. I think they're probably finishing 9-9.

ISU is 3-1. 2 against KSU, 2 against UT, 2 against OU, @ KU, WVU at home, @ OSU, and Baylor at home. ISU is good but can they consistently win on the road? They're 1-1 on the road right now. 2-0 at home.

Last, KU. We're 4-1 right now. We lost @ ISU which is nothing to be ashamed of (maybe the way in which we lost, but not the loss itself). We've probably had the hardest start to the conference schedule out of everyone. @ UT will be huge. If we win, it puts us in an awesome position. If not, its not the end of the world. Much like ISU, it would be an ok loss in terms of winning #11.

We follow @ UT with @ TCU, KSU at home, ISU at home, and @ OSU. 2.5 tough ones there. UT and ISU will be a handful. OSU at home could be a handful. The next five eases us with @ TTU, Baylor at home, @ WVU, TCU, and @ KSU. Finish tough with UT at home, WVU at home, and @ OU.

Winning #11 won't be easy. The conference is better this year than it has been in a while and we're worse than usual. But Oubre has gotten turnt up the last few games and should continue to progress like a stud. He could be our best player. Cliff looked like a bauce tonight. If he can flip the switch like Oubre, we'll be well positioned to win the conference again.

We're not a national title contender. Everyone needs to accept that and move on right now. We're a Sweet 16 team who can advance based on matchups. There's nothing wrong with that though. We shouldn't lose much off this team and if Self can finish out recruiting with another "difference maker" or two we'll be national title contenders next year.

Let's enjoy the win tonight and slap the shit out of the Whorns in a couple of days.
